Obituary for CHAMPAGNE

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Tuesday February 03, 2015

CHAMPAGNE, JANE CLAIR Jane peacefully left this earth on January 31, 2015. She was born on March 3, 1945, in Manhattan, Kansas to Margaret Atkin Champagne and Charles Champagne, who preceded her in death. She grew up in Baton Rogue surrounded by lots of relatives. Survivors include the love of her life, Donald C. Stone; her brothers, Jimmy and his wife, Darlene, Billy; and a wide circle of people who cherish the good times they shared with their generous friend Jane. She loved to learn, evidenced by her degrees in English from Louisiana State University, and undergraduate and master degrees in special education from the University of New Mexico, as well as a Master's Degree from Arizona State University in labor relations. She had two accomplished and fulfilling careers as a special education teacher: a year as a Vista teacher in northern New Mexico and as Head Mistress at Brush Ranch, and finally Jane served as a labor relations consultant. Jane was flown by helicopter to the deep sea water rigs operated by Mobil and British Petroleum to consult with their crews. A farewell memorial will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank Home Instead and Harmony Home Health and Hospice for their loving care in her final days. Donations in Jane's name may be made to the Animal Humane Association, 615 Virginia SE, Albuquerque, 87108. Please visit our online guestbook for Jane at www.FrenchFunerals.com.
