SIMMONS, JAMES T. James T. Simmons (Jake) passed away January 18, 2015. James was born September 30, 1926 in Tupelo, Mississippi. The oldest of four siblings, the family moved to Thaxton, Mississippi in 1939 when James was 13 years old. In December 1947 James enlisted in the United States Air Force. While stationed in Mobile, Alabama, he met the love of his life Nina Pearl Breland, they were married on February 4, 1956. James and Nina had two sons Gary Lee and Jimmy Ray. After being stationed in several locations the family settled in Albuquerque, New Mexico. James proudly served his country for more than 20 years, retiring June 30, 1968. James was preceded in death by his mother, Alma Belle and father Elvis Talmadge Simmons, brother Billy Simmons, sister Ruth, and grandson Justin James Simmons. His wife of 54 years, Nina Pearl Simmons passed away in July 2010. James is survived by brother Bobby Gerald and wife Susan; son Gary and wife Bonnie; son Jimmy and wife Tammy; granddaughters Kassie and Karlee; many nieces and nephews, friends and family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a nice man who would do anything for anybody. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. A service will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas Chapel.
