Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday January 18, 2015

WYCHE, NANCY LOIS JONES Nancy Lois (Jones) Wyche, age 88, passed away at her home near Edgewood on January 12, 2015. The daughter of Grover C. and Effie Jane (Raines) Jones, she was born on May 27, 1926, in Portales, NM. She married the love of her life, Seth Hal (Hap) Wyche, on June 30, 1955. Lois resided in NM most of her adult life, but also lived in 13 other states for short periods. She loved to travel and eventually visited all 50 States, Canada, Mexico, and numerous islands. Lois was head waitress at Hoyt's Dinner Bell Restaurant from 1955 to 1975. She loved waitress work because she loved meeting new people. When her husband retired from the Albuquerque Police Department in 1975, they purchased an apple farm in Ft. Sumner, NM. Lois became the surrogate mother for many orphaned lambs and loved bottle-feeding them, reminding her of her calving days on her parents' ranch in Quemado, NM. She loved handcrafts, including crocheting, embroidery, and flower arranging and will be remembered most for her optimism, generosity, and unfaltering faith. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Grover C. and Effie Jones; her husband, Seth H. Wyche; her sister, Ethel B. Marmon; her brother, Grover D. Jones; her step-son, Wray W. Wyche, and her grandson, Matthew D. Lusk. She is survived by her son, Clint G. Bridges (Sheila); her daughters, Claudette Wilmarth and Jeanne Wyche; three grandsons, Mike Lusk (Heather), Lonnie Preiskorn (Kelly) and Bo Preiskorn (Tracey); two granddaughters, Gina Thomas (Scott) and Kirsten Bates; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Lois' life celebration will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 9 am in the Reflection of Life Chapel (Washington and Cutler NE) followed by interment at the Datil Cemetery in Datil, NM.
