WAINRIGHT, MARVINE E. VENUS Age 77, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014. Born in St. Louis, MO raised in Kansas City, MO. Retired from Hallmark Cards in 1979 and moved to Burbank, CA. Retired from Color Incorporated in 1999 and moved to Rio Rancho, NM. After working as a Graphic Artist for more than 30 years, Venus became a volunteer at the Meadowlark Senior Center. She taught Computer Classes, was a Van Driver for all the Sporting events, was Queen-Mother of The Meadowlark Matriarchs of the Red Hat Society, was the President of the Friends of Many Cultures who gave Scholarships to the Alternative High Schools. Venus was the Front-Door Greeter (with plenty of hugs and smiles) at Sagebrush Community Church. She was the Facilitator for the AARP Tax-Aide for the low income seniors. Venus always went out of her way and beyond her scope. She volunteered with the Frail and Elderly for Sandoval County and Jewish Family Services as a companion. She was President Emeritus of the Lincoln/RT Coles Alumni of Los Angeles and former Vice President of the National Lincoln/RJ Coles Alumni Association. She was preceded in death by her Husband Alvin J. Wainright, Parents J.W and Elizabeth Hairston; brothers Jimmy and Arthur Hairston; son Reginald Wainright; daughter Regina Wainright-Hooks; grandsons Monte Hooks and Brandon (Ratcliff); granddaughter Andrea Hooks. She is survived by sons Calvin Wainright (Sandy), Terrance Wainright, Vincent Wainright; daughters Vanessa Wainright, Armelia Wainright-Mason; granddaughters Lashun, Chauquita, Mia, Calvon, Caleese, Alana, Asia and Terrina; grandsons ShaHun, Armond, Ter'rance, Ishmail, Amaad, Domineek and Rashaad; great- grandchildren EJ, Kamori, Alaya and a host of great-great grandchildren. One BELOVED SISTER Thais Hill and her two sons Kevin and Harvey Hill, daughter Kelly Sustaita (Vince); cousins Ron Walton, Janet Walton-McCreary, Wayne Walton, Margaret Hudspeth, Patti, Mary Cat, Hattie, Steve, Michael, Ali and the Hairston Clan in Black and White; special friends Clydia Locke, Joann Alexandra, Beverly Nails, Les Saunders, Mary Andrade, Liz Sutton and Marty Martlocke. St. James Baptist Church in Los Angeles and the Class of 55. Special neighbors Ed, Georgia and Glenda. Memorial Services will be held Sunday, January 18, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at Sagebrush Community Church 6440 Coors Blvd NW Albuquerque, NM.
