TAYLOR, PATRICIA Patricia Taylor, 58, advertising director of The Taos News from 1986-90 and marketing relations director for the Taos Chamber of Commerce for five years, died Dec. 19 at the University Of New Mexico Medical Center, surrounded by family. She died as the result as a result of respiratory complications. She is widely credited during her time at the Taos Chamber with the concept that launched the Taos Fall Arts Festival, as a way to encourage tourists to visit Taos during the off season. She was enormously popular with her advertising clients at The Taos News. Taylor left Taos to attend New Mexico Highlands University first in Las Vegas and later in Albuquerque to earn a double master's degree in social work and non-profit management. Taylor was best known as someone who could never say no to a friend or a pet, an avid reader and skier and devoted mother and grandmother. She was pre-deceased by her former husband, Forbes; and her father, DeLyle R. Youngman. Survivors include her granddaughter, Kayla Lopez of Albuquerque; mother, Betty Youngman of Ft. Worth, Texas; and siblings Kathy Mosteller, Roy Youngman, Nancy Provolt, and Tom Youngman and their spouses, as well as her adopted daughter Ivy Taylor; grandson Alex Gregory and many nieces and nephews. There will be a gathering of family and friends to celebrate Patty's life on January 10 from 4:00 to 6:00 at Casas de Suenos in Old Town Albuquerque.
