BENJAMIN, BENJAMIN CODY A celebration of life ceremony will be held from 4:00-7:00pm on Monday January 12, 2015 at the National Museum of Science and History at 630 Eubank NE in Albuquerque. Ben was born on 11-17-1922 in McIntosh, South Dakota to Issac and Lillian Benjamin. Ben graduated from Washburn High School and from the University of Minnesota. Ben married the former Mary Monteverde in Pittsburgh, PA and they left for Oak Ridge, TN for Ben's first assignment in the Army. Ben and Mary proceeded to Los Alamos and Santa Fe, NM where Ben began his career in the Manhatten District Engineers in Los Alamos and at Trinity. After the war Ben finished his education and returned to New Mexico working for Sandia Labs until his retirement. Ben returned to Sandia Labs as a consultant, ultimately working at Sandia Labs for 50 years. Ben was a private pilot, and he had many interests including hunting, fishing, white water rafting, anthropology and the study of ancient man as well as wood working, painting and sculpting. Ben is survived by his son Cody and his wife Karin and their daughter Jessica and her husband David Schmidt; his daughter Eileen Ball and her husband Craig Ball and his daughter Katrina Benjamin. Ben was preceded in death by his son Lee Benjamin and his wife Mary Benjamin, as well as his parents Isaac and Lillian Benjamin.
