Obituary for AGUILAR

AGUILAR, ALFONSO Alfonso Aguilar, a descendent of a pioneer New Mexico ranching and mercantile family, was born in Wagon Mound, New Mexico on April 8, 1926. He died peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2014. Alfonso was a master Carpenter and built homes, furniture and worked on many commercial projects both locally and in Southern California. He was preceded by his parents, Manuelita and Alfonso Aguilar; his wife, Lucy W. Aguilar; siblings, Charlie, Cleo, Olivia, Amanda and Cecelia; his step children, James Garcia and Eugene Herrera. Alfonso is survived by his sisters, Eleanor Collins and Marie A. Aguilar; children, Alfonso Aguilar (Perynn), Denise Aguilar (Gene Tafoya), and Carla E. Aguilar; step children, Dolores Carriaga, Christine Gomez and Marcia Cordova; four grandchildren, Justin Pippin, Danielle Townsend, Gabriel Tafoya and Leryn Aguilar; six great grandchildren, Julia Pippin, Alex Townsend, Ashton Townsend, Nathan Townsend, Audrey Pippin and Dylan Pippin; many nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Ralph Parks as well as many other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at San Isidro Catholic Church in Corrales on Tuesday, December 23, 2014. A Rosary will be recited at 9:00am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am. Interment will follow immediately at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd. NE.
