PARKS, MARIAN F. Marian F. (Masters) Parks was born on May 11, 1914 in Oakland County, near Birmingham, MI. Her parents were the late Herbert Masters and Jenny (Bassett) Masters. She was raised in Birmingham, MI. There, she attended the old Hill School. After graduation, she received further schooling, and worked as a secretary/office manager. She married John Parks and they had one adopted son, James. During her long life, she moved from the old farmstead in Oakland County to Wayne, MI, and then to Sheldon Road in then-rural Wayne Township. In 1956, her husband John took a position "out west." They moved west to Albuquerque, NM. There, Marian was employed by Horn Publishing Company until she retired. She was a faithful member of Christ United Methodist Church in Albuquerque. She was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and Presbyterian Hospital Auxiliary. She moved to Arkansas to be with her nephew, Bill, and his family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John H. Parks; her son, James H. Parks, and her sister, Lillian Masters Detmers. She leaves loving relatives: nephew, Bill, and his wife, Connie Detmers, of Pine Bluff, AR; niece, Cynthia Schuster and her husband, Jim, of New Richmond, OH; grand-nephews, Broc and Matt and grand-nieces, Maria, Amy, and their families. She is also survived by one grandson, Nathan Parks, of Georgia. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at FRENCH - University.
