ANDERSON, HELEN P. Helen Anderson, 97, a resident of Albuquerque for more than 65 years, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014. Helen passed away at Brookdale Place at Valencia, where she has resided for almost nine years. Helen was born on May 28, 1917 to Jack and Bertha Pokorny of Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Anderson, also a long-time resident of Albuquerque. Helen retired from Sandia Labs in 1978, after 24 years of Service. Frank was also a Sandia Labs retiree. Helen was an active member of First Baptist Church of Albuquerque for many years. Helen is survived by her two sons, Cmdr. Jack E. Anderson (retired) and daughter-in-law Lucy of Inverness, FL, and Mike W. Anderson and daughter-in-law Blanche, of Fredericksburg, VA. Surviving granddaughters include Laura Anderson of Tallahassee, FL, Sara Anderson and great grandson Brendan of Jacksonville, FL, Helen Ancell and husband Chris and great grandsons Ryan and Carson of Brooksville, FL and Robin Orr and husband Bob of East Berlin, PA. Helen was born and raised in Chicago; she graduated from Farragut Academy in 1935. As life-long Cubs Fans, Helen and Frank moved to Albuquerque in 1949. Helen was married to Frank for more than 50 years prior to his passing in 1990. Services will be held Friday, December 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH - University. A viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
