CORDOVA, LUIS G. Luis G. Cordova was born in Tucumcari, N.M. on March 5, 1916 and met our Lord on November 21, 2014 at the age of 98. He iss survived by his spouse, Evangelina Cordova; his thirteen children, Joseph Cordova, spouse Delora, Consuelo Saavedra, spouse Franklin, Louise Sedillo, spouse Leo, Arthur Cordova, spouse Carmen, Samuel Cordova, Jean Pimentel, spouse Rick, Sylvia Jones, Rita Ortiz, spouse Melvin, Esther Martinez, Margaret Mendez, spouse Johnny Robert, Vincent Cordova, spouse Yvette, Roger Cordova, spouse Suzanne, Donna Martinez, spouse Steven; 47 grandchildren; and over 80 great-grandchildren. As a young man during the depression he worked for the governments Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC camps) in New Mexico and Texas. He served his country in the Armed forces during World War II, was stationed in Africa and Europe. As a civilian he worked for the Bureau of Reclamation for 30 years retired and later worked for the Rio Grande Conservancy for 18 years, He retired at the age of 80. He was a good man a good father and will be greatly missed.Vaya con Dios.A rosary will be held in his honor at Daniels Funeral Home at 717 Stover Ave. SW on Tuesday November 25th at 7:00 pm. The mass will be held the following day, Wednesday, November 26th at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, 309 Stover Ave SW, Albuquerque, NM. He will be laid to rest at Mount Calvary immediately following the mass. Reception will be held after burial at Holy Rosary Parish Hall, 5414 Fortuna Rd. NW. Pallbearers: Inez Wideman, Steven Martinez, Rick Pimentel, Toby Mendez, Steven Cordova, and Luis Cordova. Honorary Pallbearers: Arthur Cordova and Jennifer Jones.
