Obituary for MOORE

MOORE, RICHARD I Richard I. Moore, known to all as "Dick", passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at his home after a long illness. Dick was born on July 20, 1939 in Los Angeles, CA to Samuel Ivan Moore and Florence Ravia Gottlieb. His parents moved back to Albuquerque in 1942. During his school years, he attended Monte Vista Elementary School, Wilson Jr. High School and Colorado Military Academy. Dick spent three years at New Mexico Military Institute and graduated in 1957. He served in the US Army for three years, seventeen months of which were in Korea. He graduated from UNM with a BA degree in Business Administration in 1966. After graduation, he was recruited by South Central Bell Telephone Co. for the Middle Management Development Program and moved to Shreveport, LA. In 1971, he was transferred to Mountain Bell Telephone Co. in Denver, CO. Dick was then recruited by Computer Consoles (CCI) in 1974 and moved to Rochester, NY. In 1984, he joined the Moscom Corporation, also in Rochester, NY as VP of New Market Planning. In 1986, he formed his own consulting firm, RM Corporate Consulting, and was active until his passing. With two partners, he co-founded two telecommunication companies, LSSI and STI, which were based in NJ. Dick was a member of the Masonic Lodge Mesa #68, was Treasurer of the Ballut Abyad Shrine of New Mexico, was an active alumni of the New Mexico Military Institute and of many other professional and community efforts. He is survived by his wife, Julie, and his children, Andrea Collins and husband Eric of Naperville, IL; grandchildren Charles and Alexandra; son, Richard Moore, and wife Stacy of Plymouth, MI. He is also survived by his brother, Jerrold, and wife Mari Anne Moore of Florida; sister, Barbara McMath, and husband Clint of Texas; and many other family members and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Ravia Moore of Albuquerque. A memorial committal service was held on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at NMMI in Roswell, NM and was followed by the Silver Taps Ceremony. A memorial committal service will be held Friday, October 24, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, NM. A memorial service will also be held Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at FRENCH Wyoming.
