 SMITH, ALVA LOWELL Alva Lowell Smith passed away October 2, 2014 at the age of 81. Al worked over 60 years in the mining industry, retiring as President of Santa Fe Pacific Gold. He is survived by Harriet Smith, his wife of nearly 60 years. He is also survived by daughter, Cindy Smith; son, Patrick Smith, daughter-in-law, Amy Gahagen-Smith; three grandchildren, Jack, Holden and Lily; as well as his sister, Fern Aikman. Al is preceded in death by his parents and four siblings. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Smith Buttram. Services will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2014, 2:00 p.m., at Los Altos Christian Church, 11900 Haines Ave NE, 87112. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials be made to Los Altos Christian Church.
