MAES, LUCILLE MARIE (WASSON) Age 97, a resident of Las Vegas and more recently of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully with her granddaughter Jessica at her side on September 29, 2014, in Gentiva Hospice at Lovelace downtown in Albuquerque. She was a loving mother and grandmother who was so proud of her children and grandchildren. She was a lifelong and faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Las Vegas and devoted to the liturgy. She is survived by daughter, Nina and husband, Steve Turner of Albuquerque; and sons, William and wife, Cenaida Maes of Rio Rancho, Michael and wife, Cheryl Maes of Las Vegas and Robert and wife, Dolores Maes of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Danny and Rachael Ciddio and children, Santana, Adrina and Orlando of Medford, OR, Janette Turner and son James of Albuquerque, William Maes Jr. of Phoenix, AZ and son, Juan-Carlos of Albuquerque, Michael Maes Jr. and wife, Katie and children, Bammer and Hudson of McKinney, TX, Christopher Maes of Las Vegas, NV, Melissa and husband, Paul Maez and children, Abie and Faith of Las Vegas, Dawn and Casey Rupley and children, Myah and Jacob of Albuquerque, Jessica and Craig Dusseau and son, Aiden Dean of Albuquerque, Mario Maes and wife Whitley of Albuquerque, Robert Aaron Maes of Albuquerque, Melanie and Nathan Schaub and son, Noaha of Midland, TX, Maylann and Taylor Phillips and children, Addison, Emily and Tennessee of Carlsbad, Sharon and husband, TJ Heinl and children, Christian, Vanessa and Taylor of Albuquerque; and special acquaintance, Juanita Bird and husband John of Okhay Owingie, NM. Gammie, as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren, was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Orlando; her mother, Francis; and father, John Lincoln Wasson; sisters, Hazel and Edward Hovland, Ida Helm, Mable Parham and husband Lloyd; brothers, John Wasson and wife Benita, Lee Wasson and wife Erma; and great- granddaughter, Jennifer Ann Maes. She was a self-made business owner of Lucille's Beauty Shoppe in Las Vegas for more than 50 years. Her business on University Avenue is well known and her reputation as a master beautician made it possible for her to develop many lifelong friendships in the community. Rosary will be recited Sunday, October 5, 2014, 6:00 p.m., at St. Therese Catholic Church, 300 Mildred Ave NW, Albuquerque with the Rev. Vincent P. Chavez reciting. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Monday, October 6, 2014, 9:00 a.m., at St. Therese with Father Vincent P. Chavez, celebrant. Interment will follow at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe at 3:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers: Danny Ciddio, William Maes Jr., Chris Maes, Michael Maes Jr., Mario Maes, Robert Aaron Maes with honorary pallbearers: Paul Maez, Taylor Phillips, TJ Heinl, Nathan Schaub, Casey Rupley and Craig Dusseau.
