Obituary for YOUNGMAN

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Saturday September 20, 2014

YOUNGMAN, RITA M. (MCFADDEN) Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, found her peace on September 14, 2014 after a long illness. She was widowed when she lost the love of her life of 65 years, Raymond Youngman, on December 14, 2011. They are together again. Rita was the only child of Charles and Alice McFadden of Philadelphia, PA. She worked for a time after graduating from high school, when she met and married Ray in 1946, after he served in the Navy during WWII. They moved to Cleveland, Ohio, then bought their first home in Berea, Ohio and raised eight children. She was a very busy mom, but was also involved in church activities at St. Mary's and had many friends. As members of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association they traveled around the country to attend reunions. In 1979 they retired to Albuquerque New Mexico and soon all eight children moved there also. Rita enjoyed knitting, crocheting, traveling and seeing her grandchildren grow. Rita is survived by her children, Kathie, Nancy, Tina, Ray, Michael, Kevin, Tom and Patrick; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her life will be celebrated at a private family gathering. She will be remembered always.
