Obituary for HALE

HALE, JOHNNY MCCOY Age 93, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 13, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Elizabeth Hale; children, Rita Starr, John Hale and wife, Bonnie, Randy Hale and wife, Mary, and Tim Hale and wife, Jennifer; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Johnny was born in Kewanee, MO. He graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1939. Johnny was a member of the 1938 Texas State High School Football Championship Team. He was a professional boxer. Johnny was the Southern Middleweight Champion in 1940. He joined the US Navy in 1942 and served in North Africa and Italy with the landing forces during WWII. He left the Navy in 1945 with the rank of Petty Officer, First Class. Mr. Hale married Mary Beth in 1953. He operated Johnny's Barber Shop in Mascoutah, IL until 1982 when he and Mary Beth retired to Florida. Johnny's life will be celebrated on Saturday, September 20, 2014, 4:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. He will be intered with his fellow Veterans on Monday, September 22, 2014, 11:15 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
