She was born in Portland, OR on July 20, 1922, to parents Anton Thille and Jenny (Lind) deFontenay. She was the oldest of three daughters. When she was young the family moved to Montana and lived near Glacier National Park. From there the family moved to Minnesota where she grew up, met and married Henry W. Dreyer on September 22, 1946. They had three daughters. Marian was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Barbara ("Bobbi") Landon, her husband "Hank", and youngest daughter Holly Reid. She is survived by her loving daughters Sabra Armijo (Frank) of Albuquerque, and Kyla Wood (Lloyd) of Placitas NM; three grandsons Jascha Wood (Tanya) of San Marcos TX, Chelan Wood (Angela) of Portland OR, and Devon Reid (fiancee Cara) of Denver CO; seven great-grandchildren; and her sister, Connie LeMond of Albuquerque; as well as numerous other relatives and many dear friends. Marian was an artist and craftsperson, pursuing many types of art throughout her life. In recent years she painted small watercolors of whimsical plant and animal life from her imagination. She volunteered with the RSVP program for over 10 years. She was also a long-time member of the Palo Duro Senior Center and was instrumental in developing the Visiting Artist Series there. Marian loved the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta every year. Hank was an original crew member with Sid Cutter and active in ballooning from that very beginning, and Marian was always there enjoying the balloons. She was known as "Duchess" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her. In accordance with her wishes, Marian was cremated and the family will hold a private memorial to spread her ashes. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marian's name may be made to The Alzheimer's Association or other charity of your choice.
