LEKOWSKI, CAROL ANN Carol Ann Lekowski passed away peacefully in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on September 2, 2014 at 4:00AM EDT. She died of breast cancer that had metastasized. She was 72 years old. Mrs. Lekowski was born on January 3, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois, to Frank and Marie (Michaud) Even. She attended Albuquerque High School in New Mexico before attending and graduating from Mount Saint Mary's College in Los Angeles, California in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. During her career she practiced as a nurse at both UCLA and Wood View Psychiatric Hospital in California as well as in Alabama, Florida and Tokyo, Japan. She was a Certified Registered Nurse in both California and Florida. Mrs. Lekowski had a wide range of interests and was an excellent cook. She was also an avid reader and a volunteer at libraries in the United States and Japan. She adored children and had a passion for helping women and children in need. She grew up in New Mexico and loved it very much. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Lekowski, of Fort Lauderdale; son, Mark Lekowski of Washington D.C.; and daughter, Denise Lekowski of Brooklyn, New York. Mrs. Lekowski was preceded in death by her sister Mary Ellen Even, her mother Marie Michaud Even and her father Frank Even. She will be missed greatly.
