 BRANDT, CATHERINE "CATHY" Age 76, a soldier in Christ went home to eternal rest Thursday August 7, 2014. She is survived by her sons, Richard Brandt and Larry Sterling Brandt; her nephew, David Flaig; nieces, Jill Healon, Carin Jones; and great-nephews, Archie and Andrew Healon, and Ted Flaig; and numerous friends. Mrs. Brandt was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Ralph Brandt; her father, Monroe Somers; her parents, Ralph and Pansy Pettit; and her sister, Margaret Kennedy. She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir. Cathy pursued her childhood dream to become a Registered Nurse which became her life long career. She loved her family, friends, and her cat Callie Precious. Mrs. Brandt was a devoted wife and mother and was proud to be a life-long resident of the South Valley. Cathy had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to sing and always made people feel important. Friends may visit Tuesday, August 12, 2014, from 5-7 pm, at French - University. Services will be Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at 12 o'clock p.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 300 Gold Ave SE, Albuquerque N.M., 87102 with burial following at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
