Obituary for WAGNER

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday August 03, 2014

WAGNER, SHIRLEY L. born on February 16, 1929 in Walco, OK and passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at age 85 in Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by her late husband Richard A. Wagner. Shirley passed away peacefully after a short illness. She died as she had hoped for, with peace and dignity. She is survived by her daughter Frances Wagner of Albuquerque, NM. Frances was present and holding her mother's hand as she left this world into a better place. Shirley was an avid gardener, enjoyed reading and bowling in her younger days when she could throw a pretty mean strike. As the wife of an Air Force MSgt. Shirley traveled the world seeing many amazing sights and leading a full and happy life. At her request no services will be held. Shirley felt that whatever came after her passing was for the living and chose to make it easiest for them as her last act of kindness and generosity. Her last words were "I love you Frances" with a smile. She will be missed by many for the rest of their lives. If you choose to send a contribution, please send to the Animal Rescue of your choice. Shirley had a beloved Maltese, Peaches, who was her constant companion and friend up till the end of her life. May God welcome Shirley into his kingdom with open arms to join him and her loved ones. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW ABQ. 505-343-8008.
