TAFOYA, MARIA SABINA Age 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2014, with her family by her side. She was born on October 27, 1930 to Luis and Estanislada (Quesada) Saucedo of Gallup, NM. She will be remembered as a great cook who made enough food for everybody whether you were hungry or not. Mrs. Tafoya, also loved sports and politics, but most importantly she loved her family. She played the accordian with the Senior Citizens Band in Gallup, NM. She was the babysitter for all of her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melcor Tafoya; great-grandchild, Angel Marie Chavez Camboni; parents, Luis and Estanislada Saucedo; and siblings, Magdaleno Saucedo, Virginia Cunningham, Ramon Saucedo, Tomas Saucedo, Luis Saucedo, Jr., Nick Saucedo, and Cesario Saucedo. Mrs. Tafoya is survived by her children, Elizabeth Baca and husband, Victor, of Los Lunas, NM, Dorothy Gallegos and husband, Mike, of Los Lunas, NM, Cynthia Chavez and husband, Louis Chavez, of Albuquerque, NM, and Mel Tafoya and wife, Kathy, of Albuquerque, NM; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren' and brother, Mike Saucedo, Sr., of Aurora, CO. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 411 W. Wilson Ave, Gallup, NM.
