EVANS, FUMI Fumi (Shioma) Evans, aged 78, died peacefully on Sunday morning, July 27, 2014 at her daughter's home, after a brief struggle with cancer. Fumi was born October 13th, 1935, in Kian, Okinawa, the daughter of Kamae and Nto Shioma. In 1961, She married the love of her life John V. Evans Jr., Fumi truly enjoyed archery and golfing with her husband. She learned Okinawan dancing later in life and it became her new passion. Fumi was a member of Okinawa Kenjinkai. In addition to raising her husband's three sons, John, Larry and Gary they also raised 5 daughters, Anita, Betty, Elizabeth, Nancy and Kathy. Fumi is survived by her sister who still resides in Okinawa, Japan and her daughters, Anita, Nancy and Kathy. Her husband's sons, John and Larry. There will be a public viewing and reception to follow for family and friends, Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
