BAXTER, AMY ARLENE Age 93, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, passed away and is with her husband, Jesse, on Sunday, June 1, 2014. She is survived by her children, Phil Baxter and wife, Antonieta of Placitas, Joan Baxter Scott and husband, John of Albuquerque; four grandchildren, Lisa O'Nell, Roger Baxter, Derek Douglass, and Tara Bryant and husband Greg; great-grandchildren, Brannon, Lexa, Brekyn, Allie, Tristen, Conner, and Gage; two nieces; one nephew; and many friends. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, Lem and Amy Hemphill; husband, Jesse Baxter; two brothers; and two sisters. She was born in 1921 in Frederick, OK and graduated from Frederick High School before attending Oklahoma State for a while. While at Oklahoma State she met Jesse Baxter and they were married in 1941. After moving to Albuquerque Arlene was active in raising her family and was a founding member of Netherwood Park Church of Christ. Arlene loved to play bridge and water aerobics. She never knew a stranger and was always willing to help others. Arlene loved everyone. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014, 10:00 a.m., at FRENCH - Wyoming. Interment will take place at a later date.
