Obituary for ROSPOPO

ROSPOPO, MARY TERESA Mary Teresa DeJulio-Rospopo, 94, resident of New Mexico since 1947, passed away April 27, 2014 at her home in Albuquerque surrounded by her family. She was born April 16, 1920 in Wyncote, PA. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Peter Rospopo, originally of Barberton, OH in 2003. Mary was preceded in death by her sister Della Ciocca of Glenside, PA, her brother George DeJulio of Ivyland, PA and her brother Joseph DeJulio of Maitland, FL. She is survived by her sons, James Rospopo and Steven Rospopo of Albuquerque; granddaughter Katarina Wilkin of Celina, OH; and grandson, Michael Rospopo of Albuquerque. Mary traveled from Philadelphia, PA to Los Alamos, New Mexico to marry Peter Rospopo in December 1947 and work in the Manhattan Project in Los Alamos. Throughout their lives, Mary and Peter were very proud of have contributed to the Manhattan Project and later work at Sandia National Laboratories. They grew to love and cherish New Mexico, especially Los Alamos and considered themselves native New Mexicans. Cremation will take place and a service to celebrate their lives will be held in the future, to inter Mary and Peter's remains together at Guaje Pines Cemetery in Los Alamos, New Mexico.
