Obituary for BLANCO

BLANCO, JOSE D. Age 47, longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Mireles and husband, David; sons, Edward Ortiz-Blanco and Elias Vigil; grandchildren, Adam, Annabella, and Eithan; mother, Ernestine E. Blanco; sister, Charlotte Valdez and husband, Jonathan; grandmother, Carlotta Trujillo; uncles, Ronnie Trujillo and wife, Brenda, Richard Trujillo and wife, Linda, Allen Trujillo and wife, Cass, and Charles Trujillo and wife, Cynthia; along with extended family members and friends. Jose proudly served his country and retired from the New Mexico Army National Guard. He served two tours in Iraq, first in Desert Storm and again during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He began his nursing career at the New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute. He then earned his degree in nursing. Jose worked at the New Mexico Heart Hospital and most recently worked at University of New Mexico Hospital. He will always be remembered as an outdoorsman with a great passion for riding his motorcycle. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, May 16, 2014, 6:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Lomas.
