Obituary for ARMIJO

ARMIJO, RAUL Raul Armijo, beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away quietly at his home Saturday, April 5, 2014 to be with his Lord surrounded by family. He was born in Albuquerque, NM on September 19, 1922. Raul is survived by his loving wife Lucy Armijo; his son Ted Armijo and wife Mary; daughter Lydia Vogler; his son Tom Armijo and wife Tina; his daughter Pauline Armijo-Eaglin and husband Michael; and his special niece Mary Lou Hughes and husband Reggie. Raul's precious grandchildren are Lori, Melissa, Sonia, Vicki, Dianna, Victor, Manuel, Krystle, Ashley, David, Justin, Scott and Jeramy. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father Alfredo B. Armijo, his mother Maria Armijo and sons Raymond and John Armijo. He was a Army veteran in World War II, a police officer with the Albuquerque Police department and a deputy with BCSO. Raul was also a motorcycle mechanic, salesman and owned a leather shop for many years called Armijo Leather Works. He was most proud to be a cast member of the movie Lonely Are the Brave with Kirk Douglas filmed in the Sandia Mountains in 1962. He had many hobbies including hunting, fishing, bowling, photography and wood working in his shop. He will be missed but forever in the thoughts of all who knew him. A remembrance of his life and reception will be held Wednesday, April 9 at the Cross Christian Fellowship at 6721 Edith Blvd NE Ste C, Albuquerque, NM at 2:00pm.
