LISLE, ALYS K. 1944-2014 Alys K. Lisle, age 69, a resident of Belen, passed away on Monday, March 31. She was born and raised in Omaha, NE, and moved to New Mexico in 1982. She served as a Deacon at The Fellowship of St. Barnabas Anglican Church in Albuquerque, and was an LPN for many years. She also worked with several ministries serving the local and Albuquerque communities. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, listening to music of all kinds, and was a fierce Scrabble player. She was well loved by her family and many friends. She was married to Sanford Lisle (widowed) and Carl Gockley (divorced). Alys is survived by her brother, Jon Nelson and wife Beverly; sister, Conee Nelson and husband Bob; step daughter, Jennifer Gockley; two nephews, Bill and Tory; two great nephews, Avery and Westley; and her two cats, Spook and Kix. Services will be held on Saturday, April 12th at 1:00pm in the chapel of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave, SW in Albuquerque. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Best Friends Animal Society or the Animal Humane Society in Alys's honor.
