SANCHEZ, GERALD SIGILFREDO Gerald Sigilfredo Sanchez, amazing husband, father, son, brother, uncle, godfather and friend, passed away Wednesday morning, March 26, 2014 at the age of 51 after living a happy and fulfilled life with his loving wife Rachel; their children Mariah and Andres; and their family dog Dylan; along with his loving family. Gerald is survived by both his parents and his in-laws: Sigilfredo and Virginia Sanchez & Max and Christina Ortiz. Gerald enjoyed all his brothers and sisters by both birth and marriage: Michael and Bernadette Sanchez, Kathy and Michael Fernandez, Greg and Vincenza Sanchez, Jessica and Ronnie Atencio, Rick Sanchez, Joseph Sanchez, & Maximiliano Ortiz. Gerald is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, godchildren: Clarissa Fernandez, Amber Gonzales, and Lorenzo Villanueva II; as well as many nieces and nephews: Amber, Kael, Alyssa, Santiago, Jax, Jason, Patricia, Antonio, Alana, Sofia, Gabrielle, Phillip, Clarissa, Miranda, Jacob, Isabella and Gabriella; all loved by him and loved in return. He shared a very special bond with his cousin Lawrence Villanueva III and best friend Michael Gonzales as well as his abundance of friends. Throughout the years Gerald made many friendships while working at the Albuquerque Publishing Company for 31 years where he was employed as a Manager in the Circulation Department after starting off as a driver. Gerald was a very dedicated and loyal employee. His many opinions and suggestions were always valued and for that he was much appreciated. Gerald met his future life partner, Rachel, in 1989 at the Albuquerque Journal where they both worked at the time. From there, they dated for six years, were married for 19 years and had two wonderful children. They laughed, loved, cherished each other until he was called to his heavenly home. Their love is endless. Gerald enjoyed fishing, 4 wheeling and hanging out with his family and friends at "The Cabin". He loved to sing but most enjoyed playing classic rock with his Stratus guitar that he handmade. Gerald's quick wit, unsurpassable sense of humor and talent with be greatly missed. His smile was always at the ready and his love for perfection was evident in all he created. We humbly return him to the Father with gratitude for the special time we had together.
