DOTY, JAMES R. Age 55, a resident of Albuquerque, died February 27, 2014 following a long illness. He was predeceased by his father, George. He is survived by his mom, Frances Doty of Albuquerque; brother Ray and wife, Merry, of Tulalip, WA; brother Charles and wife, Peggy, of Hampton, VA; brother Joe and wife, Pat, of Apex, NC, brother David and wife, Blair, of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; and brother Leo and wife, Toni, of Stow OH. James' nieces and nephews are Phoebe, Abby, Maria, Katherine, Joseph, Reece, Darryl, Patrick, Trey and Taylor. He is survived by numerous cousins and his uncle, Larry Wiese, and aunt, Rosie Cole of Fort Worth, TX. James was a member of San Ignacio Parish, though he attended Annunciation Parish growing up. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps, loved God, his family, his friends, and his country. His day wasn't complete until he finished the crossword puzzle or the jumble. When his health began to fail, his favorite pastime was playing scrabble with his mom. We would like to give a special thanks to the wonderful staff at the VA Hospital, the tireless and empathetic care shown by St. Theresa's Health Care, and all who held James in their prayers. At a later date, a Memorial Mass will be held at Annunciation Parish and the burial will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 2621 Vermont NE, 87110; or to Casa Angelica Home, 5629 Isleta SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105.
