 MAESTAS, NEYDA July 21, 1925 - February 6, 2014 It is with great sadness that the family of Neyda Maestas, beloved and cherished wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, announce the passing after a long illness at the age of 88. Neyda was raised in Canon, New Mexico. Neyda and her husband Herman traveled and lived throughout the world as Herman served in the military.They returned to Albuquerque after retiring from the military in 1963. Rosary will be recited on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Neyda will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 67 years, Herman Maestas, and their six children, Clara Meyer and husband Greg Meyer, Tom Maestas, Mike Maestas, George Maestas and wife Lillian Maestas, Theresa Simoes and husband Anthony Simoes, Robert Maestas and wife Susan Maestas (Wilson); her two sisters Laura Martinez and Carmilita Garcia and by her 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many numerous relatives and friends. She will be truly missed by all. We would like to thank the staff at Clairebridge at Brookdale and Hospice of New Mexico for their wonderful care.
