Obituary for ENCINIAS

ENCINIAS, CONCHA G. Concha G. Encinias, age 84, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on January 31, 2014. Concha was born June 22, 1929 in Santa Rosa, NM to the home of Patrocino and Lucia (Ortega) Garcia. She was reared and attended schools in Santa Rosa. She married J. Eloy Encinias on October 28, 1944 in Dalhart, TX. Concha worked for Teeter's Department Store, Guadalupe County Hospital and was the Head Librarian for the Moise Memorial Library for 19 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Garden Club and St. Rose of Lima Parish. Concha loved to garden, cook, go on hikes and read. Concha was preceded in death by her parents, her husband J. Eloy, her sons Anthony Encinias, Michael Encinias and Matthew Encinias as well as her brothers and sisters. Survivors include her children, Catherine Felson and husband Adam of Broomfield, CO, Theresa Encinias of Albuquerque, Barbara Encinias of Dacono, CO, Phillip Encinias of Denver, CO, Jeffery Encinias and wife Brenda of Santa Rosa, Annette Chavez and husband Frank of Albuquerque and Elizabeth Encinias of Albuquerque. Also surviving is her brother Pat Garcia of Denver, CO; as well as numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and a host of friends and relatives. Rosary services were held on Tuesday, February 4, at 10:00 AM from St. Rose of Lima Church with Mass of Christian Burial that followed. Cremation followed with interment of cremains to be held at a later date in the family plot at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Velasquez, Dino Velasquez, Jeremy Encinias, Marty Chavez, Alex Encinias and Anthony Encinias.
