 BROCK, MEL 1930-2013 Mel Brock, age 82, of Amarillo, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2013. Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79109. Mel was born Dec. 21, 1930, in Henrietta to Alvin and Ora Brock. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1948 and Texas Tech University in 1952. Mel married Jenelle Reynolds on June 1, 1952, in Stratford. He worked for Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque for 43 years including work at Pantex. They moved to Amarillo when he retired in 1995. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sons, Tim Brock and Barry Brock. Survivors include his wife, Jenelle; a daughter, Suzanne Hampton and husband Larry of Wheeler; a granddaughter, Megan Henderson and husband Hank of Lockney; four grandsons, Matt Hampton and wife Tara of Oklahoma City, OK, Andrew Hampton and wife Kelli of Wheeler, Jonathan Hampton and Collin Hampton, both of Wheeler; and six great-grandchildren, Cterling Price, Brock, Bryna and Bailey Henderson, and Braxton and Preston Hampton.
