Obituary for DODSON

DODSON, SCOTT Scott danced his way toward Heaven on November 29, 2013. A native of Albuquerque and resident of the city and of San Diego, California, he attended Monte Vista, Jefferson and graduated from Highland High School in 1968. He attended UNM and then entered the international ballroom dance world as a student, teacher and coach. He was a Fellow of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. He taught and coached at Enchantment Ballroom in Albuquerque and at Dance for 2, Champion Ballroom and Balboa Park in San Diego, California. He survived the MGM Grand fire while attending a dance competition with several of his students and also assisted in the defection of several dancers at an international dance competition. He was married three times. Scott was predeceased by his Grandmother Lucille McKee; mother, Wanda Dodson; and other loved relatives and friends. He is survived by his sister, Jan Dodson Barnhart; and aunt, Mozelle McKee. He also leaves many loved friends and students in Albuquerque and San Diego, and very special friends Robert and Susan. A Celebration of Life will be announced in early 2014. Interment will be in the family niche in "Times and Seasons" at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
