ABASTTA, MARIA ELENA Age 70, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 22, 2013, at her home in Albuquerque, NM, surrounded by her loved ones. Born September 2, 1943, in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, she was the daughter of the late Fernando and Oralia Garcia. She married Abel Abastta in 1964 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She served faithfully as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed entertaining friends, traveling, and helping others. She is survived by her husband, Abel Abastta; son and daughter-in-law, Eber and Ysela Abastta; daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Roy Kenny; grandson, Fher Abastta; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Gloria Garcia; and many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 8904 Menaul Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM.
