Obituary for GREENSLADE

GREENSLADE, JAMES O. Age 88, of Albuquerque and a 25 year resident of Grants, NM passed away on July 22, 2013. Jim was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 24, 1924. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1943 and served for three years in the South Pacific during World War II. He graduated from Michigan Tech University in 1951 with degrees in Mining Engineering. Jim worked at Hecla Mining in Wallace, Idaho and Moab, Utah until 1957 when he relocated to Grants where he worked for Phillips Petroleum, Sabre Pinion, United Nuclear Corporation and Phillips Uranium. Jim's loving wife of 54 years, Alba Greenslade, preceded him in death. He is survived by his two daughters, Gale Moore, (Larry) of Denver and Gwynneth Colvin, (Don) of Hobbs, four grandsons and five great-grandchildren. Jim was an active member of the Society of Mining Engineers. A celebration of Jim's life will be held Saturday, September 7, 2013, from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming. The family would welcome participation by Jim's family and friends to celebrate his wonderful life.
