GAYER, ROBERT KENNETH Bob was born to the late Ed and Helen Gayer, May 29, 1933 in Amhurst, Ohio. He graduated from Downers Grove High School in 1951 and attended Ohio State for two years. He married Laura M. Fisher August 20, 1955 in Downers Grove, Illinois. He worked for Socony Vacuum, which is now Exxon-Mobil for 36 years. He retired in 1990 and moved to Hunt, Texas where he and Laurie designed and built their dream home, which was right in line with his amazing abilities as a handyman. Bob served in the U.S. Army for 2 years and was in the reserves for another 6 years. He was very active in scouting and YMCA programs with his children. Bob enjoyed woodturning and was a member of the Hill Country Turners Club in Kerrville, Texas. He also enjoyed traveling and hunting. Bob was an active member of the Hunt United Methodist Church for 21 years. Bob is survived by his wife Laurie and three children: Cheryl Lynn; Jeffery Alan and his wife Sabrina; and Steven Robert and his wife Joanne. Bob is also survived by four grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. He will be dearly remembered for his good sense of humor, his easy-going ways and his deep love for his family.
