CARPENTER, VERNON KEITH Age 81, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2013. He was born on April 26, 1932 to Fred William and Neva (Freeman) Carpenter of Clayton, NM. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Marine Biology from Highlands University. Mr. Carpenter retired from the US Fish and Wildlife Service after 30 years of service. His hobbies included fishing, hunting and camping. He was a true outdoorsman. He is survived by his daughters, Cathy McRorey and husband, Larry, of Beeville, TX, and Kim Carpenter of Rio Rancho, NM; granddaughter, Ann Elise McRorey; sisters, Gail Ritchie and Christine Carpenter; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who mourn his passing. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, July 5, 2013 at Daniels Family Funeral Services Sara Road Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
