Obituary for SALINAS

SALINAS, MARIA ELVA Mary, age 83, passed away peacefully at her home on June 17, 2013. She was born in Mission, Texas. She is survived by her loving children: Dan L. Salinas, Debra K. Romero and David A. Salinas; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Pete and her youngest son Duke. In 1950, Pete and Mary moved to Albuquerque from south Texas due to an assignment by the US Army. After Pete retired from military service, in 1967, they owned and operated Compact Coffee Service, a successful family business, based in Albuquerque for over 35 years. Mary was an active member of Our Lady of Annunciation Church, as a Eucharistic Minister, volunteering with the Lay Canossian Sisters and a member of the Marianites. A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm immediately followed by a Rosary Service at 6:00pm, presented by the Marianites from Annunciation Parish to be held at French Mortuary at 7121 Wyoming Blvd., N.E. 505-823-9400. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 24 at 8:30am at Our Lady of Annunciation Church. Mary will be laid to rest at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery immediately following the funeral Mass.
