 SMITH, KENNETH D. Age 86, from Albuquerque, residing in El Paso, TX was born July 25, 1926 in Northwood, IA and went to be with the Lord on April 28, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret Joy Smith; children, Ron Smith and his wife, Sue of Washington Crossing, PA, Kathy Swingle and her husband, Steve of El Paso, TX and Ken Smith and his wife, Kathy, of Cumming, GA; grandchildren, Adam Swingle of Las Cruces, NM, Lindsay Olear and her husband, Robert of Cumming, GA, Brian Smith of Cumming, GA, Heather Swingle of Albuquerque, NM and Stacy DiFilippo and her husband, Frank, of Jacksonville Beach, FL; and three great-grandchildren, Olivia Reagen, Tyson Swingle and Abigail Olear. He is the son of the late Bertha and Charles Smith and was preceded in death by two brothers, Burton Smith and Everett Smith. Upon graduating from Albuquerque High School, he joined the US Navy and served in both World War II and the Korean War. After serving our country, he joined Sandia National Laboratories where he worked for 35 years, retiring in 1985. He was a remarkable man that touched so many people in a way only he could do, right up to the end of his life. He was devoted to his wife, family and church. Rosary will be recited on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. at The Shrine of Saint Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Rd.
