CHAVEZ, CLARA ANN born on September 28, 1937 in Charleston, West Virginia and passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013 in Albuquerque, N.M. She honorably served her country in the U.S. Air Force, where she met Ben Chavez in the most romantic city in the world, Paris. They married and were lifelong partners. Clara will be remembered as a loving sister, wife, mom, nana, aunt and friend who will greatly be missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Mary Verbonic; husband, Benjamin Chavez and daughter, Martina Chavez. She is survived by her five children, Diana McIntosh and husband, Kirk of Austin TX., Ben Chavez of San Rafael, N.M., Larry Chavez and wife, Debbie of ABQ., Michelle Garcia of Buckeye, AZ. and Melissa Chavez of ABQ; four grandchildren, Daniel Chavez, Julia and Victor McIntosh and Jolena Garcia; one sister, Margaret Hodges of N.C.; brother, Michael Verbonic and wife, Gretchen of S.C. and other family and friends who loved and will miss her. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Teresa Catholic Church, 500 W. High St. Grants, N.M. on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 10:00am. Burial to follow at Grants Memorial Park Cemetery.
