Obituary for DOAK

DOAK, DON W. Age 82, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013. He was born in Kokomo, Indiana on March 10, 1931. Don graduated Kokomo High School in 1949 and on December 29, 1950 married Nancy Goudy. He served in the USAF from November 1950 and was Honorably Discharged in September 1954. He attended Indiana/Purdue University between 1954 - 1958 and graduated with honors. Don reported to work at Sandia National Labs in July of 1958 and retired December 31, 1994. He had a love of music and played clarinet in high school band. He had many interests which included restoring a 1931 Model A Coupe and many years as a member of Paco Quatros Model A Club. He also built a wonderful cabin in Jemez mountains with the help and support of many friends and family members. He gave it up when altitude made breathing too difficult. He built a dream home in the foothills of Sandia's, then that altitude again made breathing a chore. His final home was in Bernalillo, NM. About as low as you can get and stay in the State he loved. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; his children, William, Jon and his wife Deb, Dinora, Tom, Julie and her husband Steve Emery; grandchildren Sterling, Griffin, Bryce, Chase, George, Matthew Doak, Jacob, Emily, Anna, Joseph Weidinger and Quinton Landrum; brother, Stanley Doak.
