 PEREZ, RICHARD "WEDO" B. 1937-2013 Age 75, a resident of Tome, NM passed away at home with his family by his side on Tuesday, March 12, 2013. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tome. Richard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed going to yard sales with the love of his life. He restored cars, and had a numerous collection of cars. Richard was self-employed as a brick mason. But most of all he loved spending time with his family. Even though sometimes he wasn't feeling well, if you asked him how are you Dad or Grandpa his response was "fair to midlen". We will miss and love you. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Dolores Benavidez Perez; son, Chris Perez; grandson, Joey Martinez; a very special uncle, Jimmy Benavidez; and many aunts and uncles. Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Carmen; children, Richard Perez Jr. and wife, Kathryn, Dolores Marquez and husband, Dennis, Sarah Perez and companion, Cesar, Gene Perez and wife, Bernadette, Cathy Casaus and husband, Leroy and Carmela Martinez and husband, Paul J; 19 grandchildren, Melissa and Michael Perez, Leanne and Johnathan Marquez, Phillip and Anita Perez, Marcella, Carlos and Armando Piro, Annabelle, Gene, Derek and Thomas Perez, Elias and Amanda Casaus, Alyssa and Alexis Tafoya, Angelo and Angelica Martinez; 10 great-grandchildren, Elijah and Andres Perez, Zaiden Marquez, Christian and LaRae Duran, Azariah Jones, Trinity Perez, Joseph, Francisco and Dominic Martinez; siblings, Ray Perez and wife, Tina, Rudy Perez and wife, Eloisa, Tony Perez and wife, Becky, Lawrence Perez and wife, Roberta, Albert Perez, Raymond Perez and wife, Yvonne and Felipe Gallegos. He is also survived by his special dogs, Sassy and Rex. All services will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tome, beginning with a viewing on Sunday, March 17, at 5:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. A final visitation will be held on Monday, March 18, at 9:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Tome Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Perez, Johnathan Marquez, Carlos Piro, Phillip Perez, Little Gene Perez, Elias Casaus and Alyssa Tafoya.
