Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday March 17, 2013

SCHULTZ, JEAN MARIE Was born Sept. 13, 1943, in Las Vegas, N.M., to Eugene and June Pulliam. She died March 12, 2013, in Bayfield, Colo., where she lived for the past seven years. She had moved to Bayfield from West Linn, Ore., where she lived for 32 years. While raising her two children she volunteered with the American Cancer Society as unit president, various West Linn Lutheran church organizations, including the Luther League, school PTA, and had a successful seamstress business. Her passion in later years was learning and doing Navajo weaving. One of her first weavings was of Mt. Hood; she felt that mountains gave her strength. She fought cancer for 20 years before being taken by it. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ted Schultz of Bayfield, two children: Ted Schultz of West Linn, Ore., and Erica York of Knoxville, Tenn., and five grandchildren. There will be a private family gathering to place her cremains in the columbarium in the Bayfield Pine River Cemetery. If you care to make a memorial contribution in Jean's name, please make it to the American Cancer Society.
