Obituary for BANACH

BANACH, FELIX J. Loving husband, father and grandfather, age 94, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2013. He was born on December 11, 1918 in Philadelphia, PA. He served in the US Army as a Medical Tech from 1941 until 1945 when he was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. He earned the American Defense Service Medal, the American Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Banach worked as a machinist for American Can Company until he took an early retirement. He then moved to the Albuquerque area in 1972 where he worked as a driver for Sandia National Laboratories and in the Maintenance Department with Rio Rancho Public Schools. He was, also a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and, most recently Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in Rio Rancho. Mr. Banach was most appreciative of Sister Barbara from Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary who brought communion to him when he was no longer able to attend. Mr. Banach was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Anna Mary. He is survived by his three children, Barbara Banach of Neenah, WI, Robert Banach of Albuquerque, NM and Diane Banach of Albuquerque, NM; nine grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren. A Rosary will be recited at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
