 BACON, MURRAY G. Age 87, passed February 17, 2013 after a long illness. He was born June 17, 1925 in Lorimor, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Florence Bacon, and his sister, Catheryn Jean Louis. Murray served in the U. S. Navy on a ship repair base in the Philippines during WWII then continued his education at the University of Iowa earning a business degree in 1950. He set up his own business of developing systems and providing programmers for large mainframe users in the St. Louis area. He retired in 1987 and moved to Albuquerque to live with his sister, Jean, until her death in 2011. Murray became a Mason in March 1947 in Lorimor, IA and was an active member in Scottish Rite and Shriners International the rest of his life. He held offices in Sons of the American Revolution and Mayflower Society. Murray had the reputation of being a true philanthropist and the ultimate kind gentleman.
