 JONES, VERA LASITER Age 92, passed away peacefully at 3:30pm on January 21, 2013 in Birmingham, Alabama following a lengthy battle with dementia. She was born in Ione, Arkansas on August 16, 1920. She was a kind and loving wife, mother and friend to many. She and her husband owned Blanchard Rock Shop in Bingham, New Mexico, for many years. Vera was preceded in death by one son, Boyd Jones; her husband, Sam "rattlesnake" Jones; and all eight of her siblings. She is survived by two children, Gwen Jones Poe of Albuquerque and Randy Jones and his wife, Mary Marshall of Birmingham, Alabama; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 12:15pm on Sunday, February 17th at First United Methodist Church, 4th and Lead. Her final resting place will be in the family plot in Socorro, New Mexico.
