Obituary for LEDOUX

LEDOUX, JUSTINA formally from Taos and recently from Santa Fe, passed away on January 19, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, in July 2008, her parents, Tomas and Sofia Martinez and her brothers, Tom, Joe, Leon and Richard Martinez and one sister, Mary Velasquez. She is survived by her three sons, Phillip and wife Vickie of Rio Rancho, Tomas and wife Janet of Santa Fe, and Mike and wife Laurel of Raton. She is survived by eleven grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Justina is also survived by one brother, Edmundo Martinez and his wife Katie, her very good friend Berlinda Romero and wonderful caregiver, Gloria Kennedy. Justina graduated from Loretto Academy and worked for the state of New Mexico for 30 years. After her retirement, she did volunteer work. She was a Eucharistic minister for Our Lady of Guadalupe in Taos for 17 years. She and her husband also served off and on as mayordomos at the church. They delivered meals-on-wheels to the elderly. Justina belonged to the State Retirees Association and the Taosenas Club. She was a very friendly person, always willing to help others. She was talented and artistic. She took painting lessons and made many lovely paintings. A Rosary will be celebrated at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday 1/23/2013 at Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Church. A Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Thursday 1/24/13 at Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Church with interment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 10:30 p.m.
