Obituary for MCMAHON

MCMAHON, URSULA of Rio Rancho NM, formerly of Hurricane Utah and Somonauk (Lake Holiday) IL, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday October 17, 2012. She was born November 15, 1923 in Magdeburg, Germany to Richard Blumenthal and Hermine (Kaufhold) Blumenthal. They traveled to the US in 1926 and became citizens in the 1930's. Ursula leaves behind a sister Gertrude Rogers of Buffalo Grove, IL; five children, Susan (Jim) Nebel of St Charles, IL, Pat (Blaine) Emms of Rio Rancho, Shirley (Curt) Miller of Albuquerque, Dennis McMahon of Modesto CA and Linda (Matt) Schofield of Loveland CO; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ursula was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Rio Rancho. Ursula, along with her beloved husband Roy who passed away in 1998, was very active in church activities, traveling, RV-ing, square dancing, playing bridge and bowling. She was also very talented with her hands, doing beautiful needlework and sewing and various other crafts. She loved gardening, canning and reading a good mystery as well as giving her time to the hospital auxiliary and various organizations. A private Celebration of Ursula's Life, a life well lived, has already taken place. She may be gone now from this earth, but never from our hearts.
