Obituary for FLORES

FLORES, HERMAN age 74, passed away on September 18, 2012, after succumbing to cancer after a courageous 7 year battle. Herman has gone on to be with his beloved wife of 47 years, Susie, just 2 months and 12 days after her passing. In addition to Susie, he was preceded in death by his mother, Trinidad Smith; father, Domecindo Flores; step-father Jose L Smith; brother, Celedonio Jara- millo; and sister Gloria Gurule. Herman is survived by his son, James Flores (Angel); and grandson, James Joseph Flores, both of Los Lunas. He is also survived by sister, Miquelita (Mickie) Flores Herrera; brothers, Petrolino Jaramillo and Ofimiano (Mary Lou) Smith, both of Albuquerque; along with many nieces and nephews. Herman also leaves behind extended family, including Susie's family, whose support has been un-wavering. He is also survived by the Armenta family and his dearest of friends, Victor and Lilly Sosa of Tucson, AZ, Victor Sosa Jr. and wife Debbie of San Jose, CA, David Sosa and wife Connie of San Jose, and Mary Lou Jimenez of Cupertino, California. Herman leaves behind many other close friends and former co-workers in Baytown, San Jose, Albuquerque, and Los Lunas. Herman spent most of his adult life an auto detailer, working for Bill Blake Auto Sales in Baytown and ultimately retiring from Capitol GMC in San Jose, CA. He enjoyed watching sports, and supported all Bay Area teams. He befriended many San Francisco 49er players throughout the years, as many of them purchased their vehicles from Capitol GMC. Later in life he even began watching golf on TV. He will be missed by the guys at Mountain Mikes Pizza in San Jose, where he used enjoy a couple of slices and a cold Bud Light while watching a game. He served as an usher at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in San Jose for many years, the parish he and Susie belonged to. Herman is currently a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta, NM. Pallbearers will be James Joseph Flores, Herman Herrera, Steve Herrera, David Herrera, Tim Smith, and Antonio Herrera. Honorary pallbear- ers will be Victor Sosa and Bobby Martinez. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors SW. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta, NM, Deacon Eddie Espinoza and Deacon Joe Silva, presiders.
