MARY INEZ EVELYN Age 64, was born August 13, 1948 in San Antonio, New Mexico, to Pedro and Paubla Chavez, passed away on September 5, 2012. Mary had a very close relationship with God and was an active volunteer at her church. She was a beloved mother and nana. Mary is survived by her husband, Reeves Douglas Black; son, Richard Lee Sanchez and wife, Heather; daughter, Valerie Sanchez; grand- children, Caleb Sanchez, Alexa Sanchez, and Ava Sanchez; sisters, Fidele Chavez, Ana Chavez, and Flora Listy; brother, Frank Chavez and wife, Tina; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mary graduated from Rio Grande High School, and received a Secretarial Diploma from T.V.I. in Albuquerque. Mary was a very dedicated worker and during her career worked for the Albuquerque Police Department as a NCIC Operator, she was a Board Secretary for the Bernalillo County Planning Commission for the City of Albuquerque's Planning Department and after she retired from the City, she worked at the City of Albuquerque Department of Senior Affairs and assisted in the operation of the retired Senior Volunteer Program. She also worked as a Department Head for RAK's Build- ing Supply in Los Lunas, and served as an Assistant Manager for ACE Hardware in Albuquerque. Mary was very sports oriented and participated in race walking and basketball for New Mexico Senior Olympics at the local, state and national levels. While her children were in school, Mary was an active member of the Los Lunas High School Booster Club. Visitation will be Friday, September 7, 2012 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Maria and Daniel Gurule at Santuario de San Martin Catholic Church, 8321 Camino San Martin SW. Final visitation will be Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monsignor Richard Olona, presider. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mary's nephews, Patrick and Michael Burk, Anthony and Andrew Listy, Ricky Foley, and Daniel A. Gurule.
