Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Friday September 07, 2012

EDWIN P. Age 89, slipped away peacefully at home with his wife, Linda and his two black labs, Zilla and Grizz at his side. To serve and protect was Eddie's life long calling. He served proudly for ,three and a half years in the United States Army in WWII. Thereafter, he spent 32 years on the New York City Police Department in the Harbor Unit. This was a job he loved and to which he was perfectly suited. Eddie was active with the Ponape Agricultural Trade School in Micronesia for 40 years and is credited with raising over one million dollars for them. Since retiring and moving to New Mexico, Eddie spent time helping his many friends and neighbors in any way he could. Eddie never met a stranger. He was even the last surviving original member of The Wild Bunch Coffee Klatsch. Eddie met his wife of 24 years shortly after arriving in New Mexico. He was extremely proud of the lovely adobe house he shared with his wife in Placitas. The house was built by his son, whom he loved dearly. Eddie never tired of giving tours and bragging about his son's talent. Eddie was preceded in death by his brother, Salvatore Baragiola aka Ed Sharpe. He is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Edwin Baragiola and wife Claudia; grandchildren, Ben and Anna; niece, Luana Mansfield and her daughters Lindsay and Lauren; niece, Michelle Earle and her daughter Kelly; nephew, Sal Baragiola and his wife Lynn and their children Sal and Erin; cousin, Ed Mangairotti and wife Joan. A celebration of Eddie's life will be held at The Range Cafe, 925 Camino del Pueblo, Bernalillo, NM on Sunday September 9th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at a later date.
